It is because Ms Alfred is what we would call a setter of new records. Before we go into that, we would have you know that as far back as 2017, when Ms Alfred was only sixteen years old, she was named Sportswoman of The Year in St. Lucia. And in 2015 and 2017, shlle was U-15 champion of Caribbean and Central America. By age twenty-one she joined the list of the thirty fastest women in the world.

So, going back to calling her a setter of new records, Champion Julien Alfred set a new record of course at this 2024 Olympics; 10.72 secs 100m. Then the 200m in London at 21.85secs a few months before this 2024 Summer Olympics medal. In addition is 200m in 22.01secs in Albuquerque 2023. osing with the Indoors record she set for 60m at 6.94secs also in Albuquerque 2023.

Still on her winning streak, Champion Julien Alfred won a silver for 200m at the Commonwealth 2022 games. She is the North American Indoor record holder for 60m, by the way. Again in 2018, she won a silver medal at the Youth Olympics in Argentina. We could go on and on about this tender trailblazer of ours.

On a final note, Champion Julien Alfred of St. Lucia is able to achieve the Olympics and Commonwealth medals whilst still an undergraduate student of the University of Texas. What can we say? The researchers were right, physical exercise sharpens the brain.
