MORE MELANIN FLAVOURED MET GALA ’24

Today makes it one week since Met Gala 2024 took place but we are still raving over it. Take a look at more African ladies you missed out on that exciting day.

We are starting with the legend model, Queen Naomi Campbell. She is the first black woman to appear as a model for Vogue and Time. And graced many more prominent magazines soon after. And first accepted coloured supermodel. The acceptance many models of colour enjoy today is all thanks to her.

How? She had enough doses of racial discrimination to clear the way for the future dark-toned models. Anyway, Naomi is a full topic for another day. Behold our star model of all-time. All hail the Queen.

Next comes actress Da’vine Joy Rudolph. Permit us to call her African Queen fit for African royalty. Be it broadway, television or cinema, she can pull it off. The award-winning actress holds two degrees from Yale and Temple. Joy is God’s gift to her parents who waited seven years before she was born.

And now we present the queen who has become a gift to the world. Don’t mind us in this blog. We can not help loving successful, strong women. Da’vine Joy, ladies and gentlemen..

Then Erika Badu arrived. Only as Erikah Badu would. She is a singer, songwriter, actress and producer. Does she come across as a female version of the late musician formerly Prince?

Erikah Abi Wright is also a multiple award-winning artist. Ageless Abi has traced her roots to Cameroon in West Africa.

Followed by Aya Nakamura of Mali, who recently became a French citizen. Aya has five songs which were number one on music charts world wide. She is most listened to French musician on Spotify. Beautiful…
