Finally Disney Presents Africa’s Disney Princess: Queen of Katwe Watch Trailer below. Lupita Nyong’o the 12 Years a Slave star appears alongside Selma’s David Oyelowo in Disney’s live-action feature set in Uganda and based on a true story. Queen of Katwe is about 8-year-old girl called Phiona Mutesi (Madina Nalwanga) who starts out selling corn in a Ugandan village, but discovers her amazing chess abilities. Lupita Nyong’o plays the Disney princess’s mother, and Oyelowo her coach; the film is directed by Bombay Wedding’s Mira Nair. The trailer alone brought tears to my eyes, as it reflects Africa and the average African girl’s dreams and fears.

Queen of Katwe opens on 23 September 2016 in the US, and in the autumn in the UK. Check it out.
