Has anyone noticed something new about Namibia in the past few posts? It has to do with the pageant. Their history actually. For the past forty-two years, beauties of Namibia have contested for the Miss Namibia crown. Of the lot, only one has come home with a world title. Miss McLean. A young girl of nineteen back in 1991 won.
All these years, that has been the only major world title the country compete in. And so ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this year 2022, history has been made.
The three ladies who topped thirty-four others to be winner, first and second runners-up , will go on to represent Namibia at three separate international events. As we speak, the second runner-up, Diana Andimba, is doing her country proud in the Philippines. She is a contestant at the Miss Earth International competition 2022/23.
In January 2023, Cassia Sharpley, the title holder, will be a contestant at the Miss Universe International taking place in New Orleans United States of America. Then Leone Van Jaarsveld will be proving her mettle at the Miss World International pageant also holding in 2023.
Congratulations Namibia. Go out there and make us proud.
